- Born in Bratislava
- Studied at the School of Applied Arts, Bratislava, 1954-1958
- Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bratislava, 1961-1967, with Professor Vincent Hloznick and later with Albin Brunovsky
- Began as an assistant graphics technician in 1967 and continued teaching (with exception of the two interludes listed below) at the Academy of Fine Arts, Bratislava
- Received von Herder Fellowship to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, Austria, 1969-1970, and spent two months at the Rijksakademie, Amsterdam in 1979
